A slight detour before I continue the adventures of Liz and Jack.
A man who commented on one of my stories on this blog decided to buy and read my book, The Man from the South. He let me know in a comment, and then alerted me to the following caution: he is a self-proclaimed, notoriously critical reviewer.
I thought, okay, thanks for the warning. Although I was intrigued, I admit the caution left me a little bit unsettled. Who is this man, and how can he say something like this before he even read my book? It’s almost as if he expected my very first book to be mediocre.
Today, Smashwords notified me that I have received my first review.
I almost fell off my chair.

For years, I hesitated publishing a book. The fear was crippling. When I finally did it, I thought for sure I would just blend in with the rest of the erotica, of which there is so much out there.
But a small part of me knew that I was different from the mainstream erotica niche. The cover, which I designed myself, is the first testament to that – it is unusual and not typical of many other erotica covers.
As far as the story is concerned – well, you tell me what you think.
Some of you have read some chapters on the blog when I had it posted here, which was my first step at delving deeper into this niche beyond the tight-knit sex blogger community. I communicated with some of you at times for inspiration and clarification, which I mentioned in this post. Thank you again (and I may bug you again). 😉
So Manfred, thank you for your genuine and honest review of my very first self-publishing experience. You have made my day.
If you’d like to buy my book on your kindle, please choose mobi format.
As always, thank you for reading. Now if you’ll excuse me, Liz and Jack are waiting…
